Is it possible to lose as much as 10 lbs. in a month?

Because I would like to know the answer to this question I went to an intimate dinner with people who made it. Present during the dinner was Rescina Bhagwani, Karen Gayle-Sison and Jeffrey Tan who were all graduates of Cohen's program.

So what is Cohen's Program?

It is an individual-tailored weight loss program that allows all types of people, such as housewives, busy executives, students and even those who do not have time to exercise, to lose an average of 8-10 lbs. in a month with food as medicine. The program corrects hormonal imbalance and is developed by Dr. Rami Cohen, MD, an international specialist renowned for his research on hormones involved in obesity and weight loss.

 

The Process

Dr. Cohen personally develops an individual tailored eating plan. Each person undergoes a blood test and the results are used to analyze their unique blood chemistry. A personalized eating plan which triggers the body's natural ability to shed off fat rapidly and safely is then developed to restore hormonal balance.

 

The Eating Plan

It consists of three meals a day taken in specific quantities from the basic food groups of protein, vegetable, fruit and carbohydrate. No exotic or expensive food needs to be purchased. The essential formula is the specific quantity and combination unique to each person.

What do your services include?

Dr Cohen analyses your blood test and based on your blood profile, prepares a Program that will help your body rid itself of excess fat, without making you weak or hungry. This is achieved by using the food in your kitchen, with no additional cost for special and expensive food supplements or pills. Furthermore, throughout your Program, we will support you with any issue or concern you raise. When you are close to your body's natural goal weight Dr Cohen will prepare an individual Refeeding Program for you. The Refeeding Program will take you off your Program gradually and ensure that the weight you lost is lost forever. We will then go through some Management Guidelines with you.

Do you provide the food?

No, we do not provide the food. We provide an Eating Plan that is based on the unique bio-chemical profile of your blood. The food quantity you will be ‘prescribed’ to eat is designed for your individual need and food must be accurately weighed raw before cooking. Other programs prepare food in mass production because the food quantity is not individually designed. You will only eat food that is already in your kitchen. There is no need for food that is exotic, expensive or hard to find.

Is the Program kilojoules based?

No. The specific food types, quantities and combinations Dr Cohen prescribes are what are important.

Is this a high protein diet?

No. The Program consists of food from all the different groups. It is a balanced Eating Plan.

Why are blood tests necessary?

Your Program is based on your blood test results, not blood type. The blood tests allow an analysis of certain aspects of your system which in turn indicates what is required to get your body hormones back in balance. This approach therefore designs a treatment unique to your requirements and it will 'trigger' your HGH and result in weight-loss and other health benefits.

How many repeat blood tests will I need to have?

The number of repeat blood tests required depends on how much weight you need to lose and how closely you follow your Program. They are required at 4, 12, 16 and 20 weeks and every 8 weeks thereafter.

Why is it recommended to take a multi-vitamin while on the Program?

In today's modern way of life every adult will benefit from supplementing his or her diet with essential vitamins and trace elements. The combination of the multi-vitamins and minerals enhance the benefits derived from the Eating Plan and will make you achieve wellness even sooner.

Must I exercise while on the Program?

No, if you do not exercise now do not start, especially if you are very overweight. You can start when you are healthier, but always in moderation. If you do exercise at present, we recommend you continue, but in moderation. Listen to your body, if it hurts or burns or your appetite increases dramatically, you are doing too much exercise and rather cut back just for the short period that you are on your Program.

Can I give my Program to my family and friends to follow?

Your unique Eating Plan will not "trigger" another person's body into correcting its imbalance. It may well cause even more imbalance and illness! In some cases of 'copying' we have come across people who have initially lost weight, but gained it very rapidly when going off the Program. Once again, because the treatment was not meant for them and as a result their HGH had not been 'triggered'.

How long will I have to be on the Program?

That depends on a number of factors. For example: Your blood profile, your age, and your gender, the amount of weight you have to lose and how closely you follow your Program. Recorded statistics suggest 90% of women lose 7 or more kgs in their first 4 weeks and that all women lose 17 or more kgs in 12 weeks. Note: males lose weight faster.

How do I know how much weight I need to lose?

In the same way that a 'general diet' is not ideal for your body, a general 'Weight Calculator' cannot determine your exact target weight. You can work out an approximate goal weight on our Goal Weight Calculator, however your body will give you signs when it is at its natural goal weight and this is when you are at your metabolic equilibrium and ready for the Refeeding Program.

Will I be able to live normally again without constant dieting for the rest of my life?

It is highly unlikely that you will need this Program ever again, if you follow your Eating Plan and do the Refeeding Program to stabilise your weight. It is a lifestyle change, not a 'diet' and you have a medical condition that can be controlled using the information you learn whilst on your Program.

What is the Refeeding Program?

The final stage of your treatment is called the Refeeding Program. It takes place at the end of your Program where the body has achieved 'balance' and you have lost the fat/weight. This 2 to 4 week Refeeding Program is when the so called 'bad foods' are re-introduced and portions are increased without 'shocking the body'. You are also given healthy Management Guidelines that will prevent you from starting the cycle of the 'Obesity Syndrome' again.

Is rapid weight loss safe for me?

Dr Cohen assesses the client’s medical profile and the initial blood test himself, and will make a medical decision as to whether or not it is healthy for you to lose weight rapidly. If he thinks it is not healthy for you, he will not allow you to do the program. Note that, your body will never do anything ‘unhealthy or bad’ to you. Your body is designed to do the best for you, but it can only work with what you eat. Dr Cohen is going to give you the perfect ‘prescription’ for what to eat, and your body will do the best with that. Also, while on the program, you will be having repeat blood tests from time to time, and any blood test is a window to your health, so Dr Cohen will be monitoring your health while you are on the program.

Are there people that should not do the program or may not be suitable?

  • Under the age of 15 years

  • Over the age of 65 years (there are exceptions)

  • People with serious heart conditions

  • People with kidney problems

  • People with liver problems

  • Pregnant women

  • Breastfeeding, if the breast milk is the sole source of nutrition for the infant

  • Diabetics on insulin or high doses of medication

  • Vegans

  • Other conditions or physical impairments

Why are certain ages excluded from the treatment (below 15 & over 65)?

Dr Cohen makes some exceptions, but these are based on the particular individual's profile. We are an ethical practice and both have and feel an obligation to the client and their success on the program. These categories do not respond well enough to the treatment because of various factors such as psycho-social-environment-profile, existing HGH levels and an unsuitable blood profile.

Can I do the program if I am pregnant or wanting to fall pregnant?

If you are pregnant then you cannot start the Program as it is rapid weight-loss and it is not suited to you. If you have started the Program and fall pregnant then for the same reasons you must stop the Program. However, if you are not pregnant and would like to lose weight and get to your goal then you can quite successfully do the Program. The ideal situation would be to go on the Program, lose and stabilise your weight properly and then fall pregnant.

Can I do the program while breastfeeding?

While breastfeeding Dr Cohen does not believe it is healthy for you or your baby to be restricting your food intake and experiencing such rapid fat loss. When solids have been introduced and you are only breastfeeding for comfort, you will be able to do the Program.

I do not need to lose weight, but can I do the program for my well being?

The Program is not suited to anyone who does not have a weight problem. It is designed for weight loss and all the other things people experience are just good 'side effects' of the Program. If you have at least 4 or 5 kilograms to lose, you are eligible to be considered for the Program.

Is Dr Cohen's Program the same as other diets?

The Cohen Program is not the same as any other weight-loss program. Dr Cohen looks at each person's unique blood profile to formulate your individual weight loss Program. Dr Cohen also monitors your progress throughout your Program with repeat blood tests and once you have reached your natural goal weight he formulates your Refeeding Program to stabilise your weight properly. This is the most important part of the whole Program, so that when you are finished, by using what you have learnt the weight should never come back.

There are many 'diet fads' today. Why should this be the one I do?

In most cases the clients who come to us have already tried everything. You are free to choose, but the many thousands of successful clients Dr Cohen has had over the past 25 years, is ample proof that this is not another 'diet fad'. Dr Cohen's Program is based on an internationally accepted medical research and sound facts. It stimulates the hormones with specific food combinations and quantities, so that the body starts burning its own fat and uses the food you give it properly.
