How to prevent Thyroid Disorder

A few days ago I posted that I have thyroid disorder. Here in the Philippines medical studies has always been done to determine what causes thyroid disorder. I myself was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.

According to wikipedia, Hyperthyroidism is the term for overactive tissue within the thyroid gland causing an overproduction of thyroid hormones (thyroxine or “T4″ and/or triiodothyronine or “T3″). Hyperthyroidism is thus a cause of thyrotoxicosis, the clinical condition of increased thyroid hormones in the blood. It is important to note that hyperthyroidism and thyrotoxicosis are not synonymous. For instance, thyrotoxicosis could instead be caused by ingestion of exogenous thyroid hormone or inflammation of the thyroid gland, causing it to release its stores of thyroid hormones.

This post shines light on many new factors that are responsible for the cause of thyroid disorder. Learn the most important thing you can do to relieve and prevent thyroid disorder. It is probably not what you think.

Here are some reasons to prevent Thyroid Disorder

First Reason

Since the thyroid regulates the rate of energy production in the body’s cells, Thyroid disorder reduces the body’s metabolism and makes you feel sluggish. I experienced this most of the time.

Second Reason

According to my doctor Thyroid disorder also increases your risk of degenerative diseases such as heart disease, cancer and arthritis and your risk of infection. In times of severe cases, the energy level in the body’s cells can't even sustain a basic level up of metabolism, creating a life-threatening situation.

Third Reason

There's one major problem with thyroid disorder and that it’s often missed in diagnostic tests. Even if tests show that you do not have a thyroid disorder, you might still be at risk. If your body is highly acidic, your risk of thyroid disorder increases. When I went to my doctor he gave me some pills.

Fourth Reason

Thus, even if you haven’t been diagnosed with thyroid disorder, it’s important to check your body’s overall pH level and take dietary and other steps to reduce the acid level in your body.

Fifth Reason

Do you sometimes feel bad about your thyroid? Now you will not only reduce your chances of developing thyroid disorder like mine or making an existing thyroid disorder even worse. You will improve your health overall and reduce your vulnerability to degenerative disease.

Do you want a doctor that treats thyroid problem? Go to Quezon City Memorial Circle and look for Dr. Gerry Defensor.
