telephone recorder used for vegetarian cooking demo

I mentioned a few days ago that I am going to do a cooking demo video, like a vegetarian cooking demo. It took me a long time, and now I still can't start, but I have stove already. I was thinking that since it is going to be a video then it should have a quality sound. So where can I get a High Quality Voice Recording device?

A friend of mine told me about this awesome device that he used for digital voice recording. He does podcast, similar to my idea of doing a cooking video show. I look at this device, it's called The 510 Plus Digital Recorder, it's available all over the world and sourced reliably by Professional manufacturer of security products.

I think I am going to enjoy this device because what I'm gonna do is I will just press record and then let it record my voice while cooking for the rest of the show. The recorder activates when sound is present so that it may save memory space for eliminating blank space for eliminating blank space in recording. Wow sounds really fun. If Philippine Security Agencies uses this mini voice recorder in tracking locations of criminals, what more if I use it to record my cooking show. Alright I am so excited now.

The Year of the Rabbit

Chinese New Year: Predictions and Horoscope

Year 2011 is “Year of the Rabbit” according to Chinese Zodiacs.

Fortunetellers in Asia predict that the year will be anything but cuddly. Those years include 1903, 1915, 1927, 1939, 19515, 1963, 1975, 1987 and 1999.

Among their predictions for the Year of the Rabbit beginning February 3 are terrorist threats, continuing tensions between China and the United States, natural disasters around the world and wobbly global markets.

Here are some of other key predictions from fortunetellers:

Hollywood celebrity couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is not immune from the grim prognostications. Both were born in Rabbit years, and one fortuneteller sees their longtime relationship coming under increasing strain as the year wears on.

“This year the West will suffer from a vicious energy and will be prone to more terrorist attacks,” Tsai said.

“The East will also be affected by a negative energy, reflected in ongoing tensions on the Korean peninsula.”

“People think the rabbit is very gentle, but it’s not going to be a mild year at all,” Yong said. “It won’t be a good year. There will be a lot of world conflicts.”

Past Life Regression at ECHOyoga on January 29

ECHOyoga once more offers its popular one-off healing group therapy session on PAST LIFE REGRESSION on January 29, Saturday, from 4 to 6 p.m. People have always been curious about whether there is such a thing as living in a past life. What better way to find out than to go through a regression to see whether certain issues in this lifetime may have its beginnings or roots in other lifetimes.

There has been research done extensively into life regression as a powerful tool with benefits. One common benefit is clearing and healing trauma. People are creative and endowed with many talents, and past life regression is a way to get in touch with the creative self. This mix of attributes and talents can help guide a person to make better decisions and choices. The experience can also affirm and ground one's self. Individuals who practice past life regression feel more grounded, and this is not an uncommon situation. Receiving the information that explains why enables them to accept who they are as a person and to live more fully.

This healing aspect of past life regression is what ECHOyoga, the wellness program of ECHOstore Sustainable Lifestyle, offers. The session will be held at the penthouse of Century Plaza, 120 Perea St., Legaspi Village, Makati City. The session will include tapping the subconscious to visualize possible past life connections, meditation, facilitation for regression into the subconscious and soul work, and group discussion. To reserve, please call or SMS 0906-5063958 or e-mailechoyogaworkshop@gmail.com. For more details and regular class schedules, visitechoyoga.echostore.ph.

Truth about Hyperthyroidism

What is Hyperthyroidism according to the wikipedia:

Hyperthyroidism is the term for overactive tissue within the thyroid gland causing an overproduction of thyroid hormones (thyroxine or "T4" and/or triiodothyronine or "T3"). Hyperthyroidism is thus a cause of thyrotoxicosis, the clinical condition of increased thyroid hormones in the blood. It is important to note that hyperthyroidism and thyrotoxicosis are not synonymous. For instance, thyrotoxicosis could instead be caused by ingestion of exogenous thyroid hormone or inflammation of the thyroid gland, causing it to release its stores of thyroid hormones. Thyroid hormone is important at a cellular level, affecting nearly every type of tissue in the body.
Thyroid hormone functions as a controller of the pace of all of the processes in the body. This pace is called metabolism. If there is too much thyroid hormone, every function of the body tends to speed up. It is therefore not surprising that some of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism are nervousness, irritability, increased perspiration, heart racing, hand tremors, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, thinning of the skin, fine brittle hair, and muscular weakness—especially in the upper arms and thighs. More frequent bowel movements may occur, but diarrhea is uncommon. Weight loss, sometimes significant, despite a good appetite may occur, vomiting, and, for women, menstrual flow may lighten and menstrual periods may occur less often. Thyroid hormone is critical to normal function of cells. In excess, it both overstimulates metabolism and exacerbates the effect of the sympathetic nervous system, causing "speeding up" of various body systems and symptoms resembling an overdose of epinephrine (adrenaline). These include fast heart beat and symptoms of palpitations, nervous system tremor such as of the hands and anxiety symptoms, digestive system hypermotility (diarrhea), considerable weight loss and unusually low lipid panel (cholesterol) levels as indicated by a blood test.

Hyperthyroidism usually begins slowly. At first, the symptoms may be mistaken for simple nervousness due to stress. If one has been trying to lose weight by dieting, one may be pleased with weight loss success until the hyperthyroidism, which has quickened the weight loss, causes other problems.

In Graves disease, which is the most common form or cause of hyperthyroidism, the eyes may look enlarged because the eye muscles swell and push the eye forward. This can only be resolved surgically by orbital decompression. Sometimes, one or both eyes may bulge. Some patients have swelling of the front of the neck from an enlarged thyroid gland (a goiter). Because hyperthyroidism, especially Graves’ disease, may run in families, examinations of the members of a family may reveal other individuals with thyroid problems.

On the other hand, a lack of functioning thyroid tissue results in a symptomatic lack of thyroid hormone, termed hypothyroidism. Hyperthyroidism often eventually leads to hypothyroidism.

A reason to go vegetarian

Many times I was asked why I went vegetarian. The main reason is because of my family's medical background. On my father's side my relatives would die either because of diabetes or stroke. On my mother's side my grandparents cause of death is liver failure and stroke. Now there is one common factor among them, they all went to the stage wherein the doctors tells them not to eat meat, pork and everything they were conditioned to eat. Of course they are having a hard time because they were meat eaters their whole life. Since it's hard to develop control when you are conditioned to eat meat I decided to go vegetarian until I die.

Now when that stage happens to me, I think I can do that easily because at an early stage I was able to condition myself on a plant base diet. For example I will be diagnosed that I have Hyperthyroidism and the doctor would tell me not to eat fried chicken anymore, I think I'm gonna do it with pleasure since I've been doing this for a long time.

In my case vegetarianism has developed control in terms of physical, mental and emotional aspect. And I apply this kind of control when needed. For example the doctor would tell me not to eat junk foods anymore then I would do with all my heart.

Everything that I said? This is what i feel in what I do.

But in general here are the benefits of being vegetarian:

  • gives you good health, most of the celebrities go vegetarian to become sexy and good looking.

  • makes you a kind person, not eating meat is being kind to animals, no need to argue.

  • you become a loving person, when you don't eat meat you automatically love mother nature.

Sports Excellence Centers

Rexona launches Sports Excellence Centers

It takes more than a dream to be an athlete. You have to find your passion, be determined, stay focused, train hard, study your sport to understand all the strategies and rules of your game, and keep your body in tip-top shape. Internationally renowned athletes like Flash Elorde, Lydia de Vega, Bea Lucero, Akiko Thompson, and Manny Pacquiao devoted a lot of hard work, perseverance, and dedication to their sport that led them to achieve their own dreams of being the best in their game.

Rexona, the #1 deodorant in the country and the world, launches its advocacy to inspire Filipinos to be outstanding individuals when it comes to sports. Together with the launch of its latest variant, Rexona Sport Defence, it held the 1st Rexona Run last August 2010. In coordination with RunRio Productions and SM, the Rexona Run 2010 was heralded as an astounding success because of the over all coordination, medical attention, security detail it provided to its 9000 participants. It was also the first run that featured the use of an iPad for registration, Dtag, and a new running route in SM Mall of Asia.
The Rexona Run 2010 was held as a fund-raising marathon, which benefitted the establishment of the Centers of Excellence in Sports in different public schools in Manila, which were recently turned over to the different beneficiaries last January 20, 2011 at Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School. Rexona donated a complete set of sports equipment needed in each center as well as completely refurbished the areas where it was built.

“Sports excellence is an advocacy that Rexona has supported over the years” said Anne Remulla, Rexona Brand Manager, Unilever Philippines. “The Rexona Sports Center for Excellence is envisioned to be a hub where students and athletes from different schools can learn and train in a particular sport. We hope that they will be able to fulfill their dreams here of becoming the next world class athletes of tomorrow.” Schools that will have the Rexona Center of Excellence in Sports are: A. Villegas High School for softball, J. Abad National High School for Gymnastics, Rajah Soliman Science High School for Boxing, A. Maceda Integrated School for Arnis, and C.P. Garcia High School for Archery.

The efforts do not stop here. Rexona continues to find ways to promote sports excellence in the hopes of inspiring young athletes to be the best they can be.

The Benefits of Donating Blood

I eat well, as in all vegetables and all plant based food. I am a vegetarian and I exercise regularly. Later I will attend the Adidas adination run in UP Diliman. I am running for physical fitness.

I make sure to have good sleep and I don't smoke. I passed the blood donation screening in Makati Medical Center and I was able to donate blood for my friend, because she needs four packs of blood. I contributed 450cc, the recommended volume of blood for donation.

The Benefits of Donating Blood

  • It cleanses the blood, (you can donate every three months)

  • It brings positive impact on the donor’s health.

  • It removes excess iron which can cause free radical formation in the body.

  • It brings incredible feeling of Joy like you never felt before.

Overcoming Cervical Cancer

The Benefits of donating Blood

One of my happiest experience is that I was able to donate blood for my friend who has a Level 2 Cervical Cancer. I am so happy because I was to able to help her and at the same time my blood was cleansed.

  • Donating Blood every three months is a good for the blood, it cleanses.

I am sad at the same time because of my friend's condition. The least thing I did was advice her to increase eating vegetables so that she gets well and she will surpass her chemotherapy , Level 2 Cervical Cancer is not a joke. I am worried about her even she still smiles and pretends that she is OK. So here are the top women killers:

  • Breast Cancer

  • Cervical Cancer

  • Ovarian Cancer

  • Skin Cancer

*There are 12 fine filipinas that die everyday of cervical cancer.

Upto 80% of women will get the HPV in their lifetime, the virus that causes cervical cancer and within 5 years of diagnosis more than half of the women with cervical cancer won't survive.

What is HPV ?

A human papillomavirus (HPV) is a member of the papillomavirus family of viruses that is capable of infecting humans. Like all papillomaviruses, HPVs establish productive infections only in the stratified epithelium of the skin or mucous membranes. Generally it is caused by major skin contact and in order to prevent cervical cancer we should need to get vaccination. So let us help out cervical cancer . For more information visit : http://www.xoutcervicalcancer.com.ph/

How to prevent cervical cancer:

  • Get regular pap smear

  • Maintain one sexual partner only

  • Tell your one sexual partner only to use a condom during sex

  • Get vaccinated asap

  • No smoking

I am thankful that I was healthy enough to donate blood.

Donating Blood is not easy, it requires good health and you need to pass screening.

The criteria for judging:

  • You need to have normal weight and not sick

  • Normal blood pressure and normal hemoglobin blood count

  • Good eating habit and enough sleep.

  • You don't smoke and drink alcohol

  • No tattoos

  • Not taken drugs

If you pass the criteria, then you are eligible to donate blood like me. Now I realized the good benefits of taking care of my health, I am so positive thankful and happy, woot.

The benefits of donating blood

  • It cleanses the blood, (you can donate every three months)

  • It brings positive impact on the donor’s health.

  • It removes excess iron which can cause free radical formation in the body.

  • It brings incredible feeling of Joy like you never felt before.

    Free Tour at Rizal Park

One of the reasons why Chinese and other international races loves going here in the Philippines is because there's a lot of tourist spots which is free like the Rizal Park. Despite of the recent hostage taking here which killed Chinese nationals, they are not afraid of going here to take pictures and tour the Rizal Park.

Rizal Park is a great tourist spot, especially when you have Samsung Galaxy Tab and you're being guided by Carlos Celdran. I had the chance to join and it was full of fun. I was able to experience using Samsung Galaxy Tab. I am thankful because I had the chance to use it for free besides I can't afford to buy it due to it's high price. But I am positive that I will have something like this in the future. I live Positively!

Last December 7, 2010, the Real Leaf Ambassadors were launched to the press.

Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, pesco vegetarian KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual. So what has brought the four together ?

"We’ve all made the switch and made it our green tea!" said the four ambassadors, In this unique team-up what also brings them together is the fact that they all love being real and staying true to themselves and to people around.

"We believe that off cam, we’re just ordinary people who go through routines and make important choices day by day." they added.

Now being ambassadors how are they going to promote healthy drink?

    Benefits of Yoga

ECHO Yoga Kicks Off 2011 with Yoga Workshops

Take that intention of beginning a healthy lifestyle this year by joining a yoga class. ECHOyoga workshops are for absolute beginners, and are specifically tailored to ground you into an understanding of yoga, the science of breath. The main goal is to bring a new understanding of yoga's benefits for a healthy body, a focused mind, and a peaceful heart. The body's flexibility is achieved only when the breath is steady and controlled. Aside from regular classes such as Gentle Flow, Led Ashtanga, and Vinyasa Flow, which ECHOyoga offers, a schedule of special workshops for the first quarter of the year are now available, so people can plan their healthy lifestyle way in advance.

For January, workshops include the BEGINNERS GROUNDING on January 13, 20, 27, and February 3. These four instructional sessions are a painless way of easing into yoga for the absolute beginner. PAST LIFE REGRESSION on January 29 is a group session that opens the subconscious to visualization of possible past life connections. This one-off session includes meditation, facilitation for regression into the subconscious, and soul work and group discussion.

A special fundraising workshop on January 15 and 22 is YOGA FOR DEPRESSION, done in partnership and for the benefit of the Natasha Goulbourn Foundation (NGF). This workshop offers therapeutic yoga sequences aligned with reiki healing for those who want to manage their depressive tendencies and mood fluctuations. Proceeds of the workshop benefit the education and information programs on depression for OFWs and their families. Other ECHOyoga workshops include INTRODUCTION TO YOGA FOR BIG PEOPLE, CHAKRA HEALING MEDITATION, YOGA THERAPY FOR ATHLETES (SPORTS INJURIES), YOGA FOR THE SPINE AND SPINE INJURIES.

Julia Clarete, her act for clean air

I thought that actress-hotbabe Julia Clarete is just one of those tweetums-cutesy celebrity.
But beyond her personality lives someone who does care for the environment.
I personally witnessed her biking starting from Broadway Centrum going her way home. At first I doubt if she really do it everyday but nevertheless I think she do it on a regular basis. Check video of this hotbabe biking under the sun. "Ang sarap mag bike eh" - Julia Clarete shares. I am beginning to like her na.

    Featured vegetarian stuff: Likha Diwa

I'm here at Likha Diwa located at Krus na Ligas, Quezon City,it's near UP diliman. I like it here because it has vegetarian options like Sinigang sa Bayabas with brown rice for only 110 pesos, it is good for 2 persons. I also like their Banaba tea which you can buy for 70 pesos, quiet expensive but it's natural. I also like the ambiance, it's so homey, I'm sittin on the floor right now listening to Bob Marley songs.

What I don't like here is the slow service, well they only have one server who caters to all 15 table of customers, try to imagine that. Using electricity is not allowed so I can't charge my laptop in case it dies. Anyway here's a video I made.

Everyone’s jumping on the healthy bandwagon. That’s why these days, before we even put anything in our mouths we tell ourselves, “Wait…is this good for my health? Thing is, most stuff that’s good for your health don’t exactly taste as good as those that aren’t healthy.

    Minute Maid Pulpy

    Happy, Pulpy, Healthy!

Everyone’s jumping on the healthy bandwagon.  I’ve got friends who literally count the calories before putting anything on their plate.  But more than vanity, it’s health that matters.  That’s why these days, before we even put anything in our mouths we tell ourselves, “Wait…is this good for my health?  Will this make me fat?!”

Those are the things our mind consciously ask.  But really, before those rational stuff, our brain shouts out—Does that taste good?!

Thing is, most stuff that’s good for your health don’t exactly taste as good as those that aren’t exactly the most healthy stuff around.  So when I find something that’s healthy and tastes really good, I spread the good news around.  We all need it, after all.

Take for example my newest dig: Minute Maid Pulpy. Yeah, yeah, I know what you’re thinking: That’s

bottled juice—tastes like fruit alright, but for sure that’s loaded with tons of bad stuff like preservatives!  Hold on to your seats, because Minute Maid Pulpy has NO PRESERVATIVES ADDED.  Whew!  Say goodbye to fears of allergens…or worse, those harmful stuff which not only hinder our cells’ ability to rebuild themselves, but could even cause deadly diseases like cancer.  Oooohhhh….I don’t mean to sound morbid, but really, I don’t think we give too much thought over these supposedly little things they put in the stuff we eat or drink!

    Many Benefits of Healthy Lifestyle

After many years of staying at home and starting to adopt the new normal, finally nakapag fun run and recreation ulit. And it's good to ...
