3 Exercises to Build Cardio Fitness at Home

3 Exercises to Build Cardio Fitness at Home

Gyms provide a wide range of equipment for cardio, strength training, and more, but you can still get in good shape without a gym membership. In fact, a number of cardio exercises can be performed in the comfort of your home.

This article will cover some of the simplest and most effective ways to develop your cardio without going to a gym or even leaving your home. All you need is a pair of comfortable sneakers, a water bottle, and a towel if you want to use one. Keep in mind that along with exercise, your diet will also have a significant impact on your ability to lose weight or build cardio.

High Knees

High knees are a powerful workout for both cardio and muscular endurance, especially in your core and lower body. It should only take a minute or two to get a good workout, and you can do this exercise in relatively small spaces.

Start by standing up with your back straight and your feet close to each other or at shoulder width. Bring one knee up to your waist while maintaining form in the rest of your body. At the same time, move the opposite hand up as if you were running.

Try to keep a quick pace and do at least 25 reps per side for each set. In a full cardio workout, you should perform at least three sets of high knees. Don’t be afraid to adjust your reps up or down if you’re having trouble or if you feel like you can do more.

Mountain Climbers

Mountain climbers are another versatile exercise with a variety of benefits. To perform a mountain climber, get in a push-up position, but put your weight on your wrists instead of placing your palms against the ground.

Without curving your back, bring one knee to your chest and hold it there for a second or two. Switch sides and try to move quickly in order to build cardio in addition to muscular strength. You should perform three sets of twenty reps with one rep including both sides.

Jumping Jacks

One of the most well-known cardio exercises, it’s easy to underestimate the effects of jumping jacks. Even if you’re already familiar with the workout, it’s important to pay attention to your form instead of rushing through each set.

Try to complete at least 30 reps per set, although there’s nothing wrong with stopping earlier if you’re slowing down. Over time, you’ll naturally be able to increase your reps, eventually reaching three sets of 100 reps.

A gym membership can give you access to new equipment and provide additional motivation, but not having one isn’t an excuse not to exercise. These workouts are a great place to start building up your cardio on a tight budget and schedule.

My Nurture Spa Experience  in Tagaytay.

Nurture Spa Village Tagaytay IMG_0860
As you enter the place you will feel a very calm aura and a cool atmosphere. When you breathe in you can hear the sound from your ears.

Companies, couples, families and friends can have fun camping here while absorbing the advantages of Nurture Spa’s treatments. I strongly recommend Glamping because I was able to experience it and I can say that it is worth paying the service.

Nurture Spa is accepting groups—from families to groups of friends on holiday, to members of corporate team-building activities.

Teambuiding package costs 4,000 Php/person and 10,000 Php for the facilitator fee (optional)

I stayed there together with my blogger friends as part of celebrating love and wellness as we search for good health.

There's a lot of things that I learned about the importance of wellness.

  • Stress is the main cause of chronic diseases and it kills people

  • Work causes a lot of stress.

  • When you appreciate things that you have more than things that you don't have your mind can easily adopt that state of being relaxed.

  • There is a great impact on the sense of smell. Aromatherapy is very helpful if you experiencing  a lot of stress.

I also learned that being mindful to what you see around you gives a relaxing effect on our mind. We had an activity; we went to the plantation and we need to mind the things that we see. We need to tell on our mind about the things that we see around.

The most relaxing activity we did was Qi Gong, it is an ancient breathing exercise which was lead by Hannah Holzgreve, an instructor from Germany.

After the Qi Gong activity we did an exercise called Exercise Circuit.

We had a short trek going to Pineapple farm of Nurture Spa before we had our lunch.

A wellness talk by Ms. Cathy Turvill, one of the owner followed after.

And I also learned a lot of therapy that help you feel relax and remove daily stress. During our stay I experienced the following types of therapy

  • Aromatherapy

  • Massage therapy

  • Hydrotheapy

  • Laughter Yoga

  • Vegetarian Food

It is very important to achieve a relax state of mind because it keeps the mind clear at all times which is conducive in maintaining a good health

I was also lucky to experience their facial massage called "dilag" and had a very relaxing sleep.

I feel like I'm in a paradise. One day is not enough for me to experience to good things here.

I will definitely find ways to be able to go back to this very beautiful place.

The effects of Yoga in one's life

"Spreading the word about the YOGA FOR LIFE's program is already a great help" says James Rasco, a core group member of Yoga for Life.

Yoga for Life is the first ever community-based yoga class series, specially designed for the needs of people living with HIV and AIDS, but open as well to others who support them and want to experience the beauty of yoga. It offers a variety of postures, breathing practices and guided meditations that are directed towards alleviating the fear and stress associated with HIV and AIDS.

Last Saturday yours truly had the chance to attend at last Yoga for Life session in Century Plaza. After the session I did a hijack interview with one of the participants during the class.

James Rasco had just started doing Yoga last year as he was part of the organizers of this community. But before that, he never knew that he is going to do Yoga. "Nasa akin na lahat ng excuse para hindi kumuha ng work out regimen kasi sa tingin ko di ko kaya, wala akong time, pagod ako masyado, full time yung work ko" shared James.

Now that he's doing Yoga, he had the energy that he never felt before. He became became stronger and was able to maintain his weight. "Nagstart ako sa Yoga 4 Life once a week, every wednesday, malaking realization ko nun - meron pala akong energy".

While yoga has long proven its benefits to the health of the general population, yoga is quickly gaining ground as an important complementary therapy in the treatment of HIV, because of its adaptability, as well as its physiological and psychological benefits to those living with HIV.

Prepare your mind before reading this

Do you want to unite your body, mind, and soul? Do you know what to do ? Do you like Yoga. Do you know what it takes?

You should realize that you would be able to achieve the balance that everyone would wish they had in their lives?

Do you know what you need to do for yourself in order to achieve this balance?

The Parts of uniting these three elements for your passion is knowing what makes you passionate. Because what makes you passionate will help you get in Spiritual or creative passion can help you to achieve those feelings. Do you understand?

Whether it’s through faith, music, or some other type of artistic expression, you
use to find out what will awaken your soul in order to strike balance in your life.

Here are some tips to guide you.

What are your goals for the future?
What would you like to ultimately achieve in your life?
Is it spiritual enlightenment?
Is it social status?

Or is it merely to be the best person you can be, and make a contribution to society?
What's important, though, is the process by which you attain your ultimate goal. That is what will generate your passion.

Live Positively

Try to focus on positive things, and do not dwell on the negative. Try to Recall your accomplishments and good deeds. Doing this will help keep you positive, and keep your spirit up. If you constantly remind yourself of your mistakes, you will find it harder to succeed down the road, and your mind, body, and soul will work against you.

•Don't worry Be Happy

You’ve heard of finding your “happy place” right? This form of meditation helps you take your mind and spirit to a comfortable place that fills you with happiness. This is an ideal thing to do when you are in the middle of a stressful day at work or with the kids; it provides the perfect opportunity to regroup.

•Be an agent of change.

Nothing beats life change. Plan a vacation, even if it is just for a weekend. Nothing does the body, mind, and soul better than a little change of scenery. Go where you will be happy, and be able to let loose and have some fun. Try it on your own. It might sound scary, but you will be surprised at how relaxed and refreshed you will be after a weekend all to yourself!

•Try some daily affirmations.

Pick three things that you can say out loud in the mirror that will help you stay centered, positive, and focused. Saying something often enough has the power to make it true for you.

Three basic affirmations that you can work from include

“I am going to successful and secure.”

“God gives me everything that I need.”

“My income will going to increase.”

Recommended Spiritual Activities

Do you pray to God?

Luckily for me there’s always been that curiosity of what’s out there in the alternative world including the alternative therapies. I’ve tried many of them over the years and will continue to do so, all in the hope I can make things better for my body, mind and spirit.

I am aware now that what my work for me may not work for someone else, so the message is to keep trying until you find something that will really suit your needs.

There were many times I’ve been told they’ve tried everything. What is everything? What it is actually boiled down to you could count on one hand. It’s worthwhile to keep searching, you may find that your world expands in a most amazing is the way by the making of new friendship and camaraderie and picking up useful skills for your ‘self-healing’ tool-kit.

So what do I do when I’ve reached nirvana and need some direction or could do with some healing?

Listed below 5 basic points that have helped to lift my spirit and with practice will also help yours, I also went to Angeles to learn this things.

1. Meditation! Mantra Meditation is one of the greatest self healing tools available and costs nothing except a little of your own time! There are many meditation techniques out there, you can find one that suits you and begin.

By putting this and some meditation music on and spending time in quiet contemplation it can soothe your soul and reconnect you with the highest aspect of yourself upto the impersonal brhaman.

do you also like smaelling incense?

2.Aromatherapy and Essential Oils.

Rebalance and rejuvenate your spirit through blending a selection of essential oils together in an aromatherapy oil burner. I’ve found the following blend works extremely well when there’s a need for nurturing, support and healing:

Approximately an hour before retiring to bed place a few drops of the following in an aromatherapy oil burner with some water (for safety’s sake, extinguish the flame before lights that are turned off for the night):

here are the ingredients;

4 drops Jasmine

4 drops Rose

4 drops Neroli

3 drops Lavender

3 drops Bergamot

The smell divine! I use this one every now and again and not only sleep like a baby but anxiety and stress disappears, and feels like the weight of the world has lifted from my shoulders by the following morning! (If you have a small bedroom you might like to half the amount of drops)

3.Fresh Breathe! Stand with feet a shoulder-length apart. Take 3 real slow and deep breaths using your diaphragm muscles. Breathe in and out through the nose, and breathe out through slightly parted lips. And as you do these imagine you’re inhaling your personal power, filling every cell in your body, from your diaphragm up to the top of your head.

Be your personal power and notice how much taller, straighter and stronger you become. Repeat the steps above.

4. Be in the Present Moment. Take a few deep breaths and focus totally on this moment, right now.

If you’re reading a book or magazine, or even this article, totally focus on the words and take in their meaning. There is only you and this article now in the present moment.

If you’re in the workplace, focus totally on the task at hand, and only this task, and what you must do in order to complete it. Nothing else matters except you and the task at hand.

5. Set an intention. When I’m on the lookout for something new and useful for me, I set my intention on what it is I’m after.

For example, I may want to find a book that will give me answers in regards to directing me to another healing modality or skill.

I then meditate on this intention, give it a timeframe then open my heart to it. Lo and behold I will have a book in my hand in no time at all! I love the power of intention – I also use intention for getting a parking space when I go shopping!

These days I rarely get sick and when I do and have a medical checkup, doctors tell me I’m actually very healthy (surely they can find something so I can get some sympathy around here!) which also includes blood test results.

I still do sadness and unhappiness well (I’m still human) though neither lasts long whereas in the past it would last many days sometimes weeks. What lasts much longer is a peaceful state.

When using the 5 points above, my spirit lifts and life once again becomes more peaceful and joyful.

If you want to have free yoga classes, go to UP Open University or join the Yoga Club in UST.
