Ways to Relieve Migraine Headaches Naturally!

[caption id="attachment_1404" align="alignright" width="300" caption="Stress Free and Beautiful Rizalyn Leyson"][/caption]

I have a facebook friend named Rizalyn Leyson. Everytime I see her photos and status on facebook I noticed that she is a stress free person, despite of her busy work, she still manages to have a work life balanced environment. She is an example of a person who doesn't have headaches, it's just because she lives her life to the fullest. She enjoys her work and enjoys spending time online.

On headaches
There's so many headache treatments available that can be cheap, safe and effective. Those natural treatments for migraine headaches are usually safer and cheaper compared to traditional pain medications. In many instances they can relieve pain as well or even better than prescription drugs.

But the possibility of a negative reaction to a safe and natural migraine headache treatment is still there, it is only less with most natural treatment methods compared with pain-relieving medications.

Almost every person is unique. The body chemistry is different than anyone else's. Each person may find relief from their migraine headaches with one type of treatment while some may try that same treatment and find no relief at all. That is the sad part

Medications
Well, that then will be able to function at their best. Anti Histamines will increase gastric secretion and dilate the capillaries. Insulin is secreted by the pancreas and helps regulate the blood sugar levels. Hormones are produced by the body for many different functions. Adrenaline (epinephrine) is produced in response to stress. Every body is unique and produces different chemicals in differing amounts. Try this - When you take aspirin (a chemical) for your migraine headaches it changes the chemical make-up of your body.

Have you heard that when two chemicals, in the same amounts, at the same temperature, etc. when mixed together they will cause the same reaction?

That may be true, but when one chemical (such as aspirin) is taken by two separate people their reactions will never be exactly the same because no two people have identical chemicals in their body. One person taking aspirin will not have the same reaction as someone else taking aspirin. And it's the same with natural migraine headache treatments. Since no two people are identical no two people will respond exactly the same to a treatment method for migraine headaches.

Just because a migraine headache treatment does not work for one person does not mean it won't work for your migraine headaches. There are still many effective alternatives in taking medications when it comes to relieving migraine headaches. You just have to try one for yourself to see if it will work for you.

The Natural Way

A natural and popular treatment method for migraine headaches is chiropractic care, or chiropractic manipulations. Studies have shown that over 80% of headache patients find some type of relief for their headaches with chiropractic treatment. And chiropractic treatment has been shown to be extremely safe. Spinal problems cause headaches and when these spinal problems are treated by chiropractors a high percentage of their patients experience relieve from their pain.

Another natural way to relieve migraine headaches is biofeedback. This is a safe and potentially effective way to eliminate pain. Biofeedback is not actually a treatment, but a training program designed to help a person develop the ability to control their autonomic (involuntary) nervous system. Functions that are normally automatic in the body, such as blood pressure regulation or heart rate can be controlled voluntarily. This technique makes it possible for a person to control their own heart rate, blood pressure, skin temperature or relaxation of their muscles.

Muscle Headache

Not known to many that stress causes muscle tension. And nobody will deny that muscle tension causes pain and headaches. And it's also a fact that by relaxing this muscle tension, especially in the neck and head, it is possible to relieve the migraine headaches or neck pain that is being caused by the tension. With biofeedback the machinery is not always necessary. Once the biofeedback technique is learned there is no longer any need for the equipment. The patient with migraine headaches can now produce the desired effect at any time. A person that has been trained with biofeedback can control some of their bodily functions, such as muscle relaxation, which can help relieve their headache pain.

Another cause of headaches can be the intake of too much salt. Some people just can't get enough of it. They pour it onto their food with wreckless abandon. And too much salt can and does cause headaches. What's the solution? Simply lessening the salt intake can sometimes prevent the headaches from occurring.

Harmful Foods

Food sensitivities have also been shown to cause migraine headaches in some people. Foods such as cheese, alcohol, MSG (monosodium glutamate - a food additive), yeast, wheat, nuts, avocados, beans, bananas, oranges (and other citrus fruits), pork, vinegar (and pickled foods), dairy products, caffeine, chocolate, onions and others can cause migraines. Foods that cause migraine headaches are called "migraine triggers." People who experience migraine headaches because of food allergies can reduce or eliminate their pain by eliminating the foods that cause the headaches.

It sounds simple, but it takes a little detective work to figure out which foods, if any, are causing the migraine headaches. So how can you determine which foods are the culprits? The logical way is to keep a diary of what you eat and when. Get a small notebook, with each page representing one day, and make three columns on each of the pages. The first column on the left side of the page will contain the hours in the day. The second column down the middle of the page will be a list of the foods eaten that day. And the third column on the right side of the page will list the symptoms (headaches) that you experience.

Here's how the food diary works: if you had an orange, cereal and milk for breakfast at 8 AM you would write "orange, cereal, milk" in the middle (food) column directly to the right of 8 AM in the left (time) column. Make a note of everything that you eat on this list and at what time you ate them.

Next, whenever you experience a migraine headache write "migraine headache" or "headache" in the right (symptoms) column that corresponds with the time (in the left column) your headache began. For example, if you started feeling pain from one of your migraine headaches at 2 PM you would write "headache" in the right (symptoms) column directly across from 2 PM in the left (time) column.

Once you've had enough time to experience a few migraine headaches you will be able to examine your food diary to determine which foods you ate shortly before you began experiencing your pain. For example, if you had 3 migraine headaches over a one-month period, and you had milk shortly before each of the migraine attacks, milk may be the culprit. It may take a few weeks or even a few months to come to any conclusions, but over time, by figuring out which foods or ingredients in these foods, are causing your pain, you will be able to eliminate these ingredients and relieve your pain caused by these foods.

Probably the most common cause of headaches is just plain old stress. People who experience tension in their lives can get headaches from their increased tension. Stress can be caused by many things including work-related stress or family-related stress. And although it's not always possible to eliminate the cause of the stress it is often possible to relieve the muscle tension and pain that originates from the stress.

Biofeedback training (as explained above) is one way to help reduce stress. Other ways are taking a warm bath or shower, lying down and relaxing in a quiet dark room, having someone massage your neck and head (temporal region) muscles to help relieve your tension and muscle spasms or placing something cold (ice) on the back of the neck (at the base of the skull). When using ice it should not be placed directly on the skin. Some wet paper towels that have had the water wrung out of them should be placed between the ice and the skin. Regular exercise can also, over time, reduce tension.

We have discussed 5 natural treatment methods that are available to migraine headache patients. They are all considered safe and are effective for many people. There are many other natural treatment methods out there for you to try. If you have headaches it may be beneficial for you to try some of these treatments or search for others on your own. But as a word of advice, it is always a good idea to talk with a chiropractor or medical doctor before treating yourself for a health condition.

Buon Giorno opens a new branch in Rockwell

Good Day, in Italian it's Buon Giorno.

There's a new Buon Giorno Cafe along Rockwell Business Center. We went there a few days ago and I learned the difference between district and center. And I also learned that antipasto and antipasti is the same. An appetizer usually consisting of an assortment of foods

It is very seldom that I attend food event but it was great visiting Buon Giorno in Rockwell. Another Italian inspired restaurant along the Metro. I like Italian dishes because for sure there's gonna be meatless pasta and pizza to be served. Mark Floro was able to share me about his favorite vegetarian pizza called Margherita.

I was able to interview the owner of the restaurant, Mark Floro. Watch the whole video

Elizabeth Taylor's Death caused Zsa Zsa Gabor's hospitalization

[caption id="attachment_1389" align="alignleft" width="291" caption="Zsa Zsa Gabor was Hospitalized After Hearing Elizabeth Taylor Died"][/caption]

Zsa Zsa Gabor was Hospitalized After Hearing Elizabeth Taylor Died – Based on Zsa Zsa Gabor’s publicist, the shock about Elizabeth Taylor’s death has made Zsa Zsa Gabor went into fear as she was next and she was sent her to the hospital due to high blood pressure.

Bad news because John Blachette says that Zsa Zsa Gabor was watching the news Wednesday morning at hert Los Angeles home when she learned that her friend and one-time neighbor had died. John says that Zsa Zsa Gabor was inconsalable and commented “Oh, Jane Russell and Liz Taylor – I’m next.”

Zsa Zsa Gabor’s was hospitalized Wednesday morning and then released Wednesday evening according to John Blachette.

My Journey to Buon Giorno!

Buon Giorno Caffe and Bistro, Rockwell Business Center, Pasig City, Philippines

It opened in Tagaytay in 2005, then it becomes a favorite relaxing escape for Italian dish lovers. Now it's here at the heart of Manila along the Rockwell Business Center in Pasig.

Yes, there's a new Buon Giorno Caffe for the foodies in the Metro. Now what I am looking forward in an Italian Restaurant is their pesto and pizza.

One of the pizza they do offer is called Quattro Formaggi - a beautiful blend of fontina, mozzarella, parmesan and gorgonzola cheeses. It comes in thin crust, but just the right crunch to it.

And for their pasta, their best seller is Cannelloni Spinaci.

I am going to taste their vegetarian pizza.

I would like to share my interview with Mark Floro sharing about his favorite pizza, the vegetarian pizza.

Alter Space: Play and learn to reduce your carbon footprint

[caption id="attachment_1385" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="WATER POWER – Water is one of the best sources of clean energy. The Alter Space Hydro Plant mini-game teaches the importance of harnessing water to create energy. "][/caption]

ALTER SPACE, THE NEW FILIPINO-DEVELOPED
Facebook game, is a fun way for gamers to learn practical tips on Earth-friendly living. This means a lifestyle that helps reduce the effects of global warming, climate change and carbon emissions on the planet. These tips are presented as part of various tasks and mini-games that the gamer plays. Alter Space was developed by AboitizPower to educate gamers on Carbon Footprint Reduction (more on that later).

New Earth Hour mini-game

Alter Space keeps up-to-date with environmental and Earth-friendly projects. One of these is Earth Hour, a global event that calls on people around the world to shut down all non-essential lights and appliances on the last Saturday of March, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, according to their local time. Alter Space has introduced a new mini-game called “Switch Chaser” in support of Earth Hour.

In “Switch Chaser”, the gamer’s avatar is required to switch off whatever appliance has been left on in his or her virtual home. The gamer has two minutes to move around the house, using the PC arrow keys, and turn off an appliance. The gamer needs to press the space bar once the avatar is beside an appliance to turn it off. The gamer must turn off as many appliances as possible within two minutes.

[caption id="attachment_1384" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="YOUR OWN PLANET – Is your house a mess? Well, how about taking care of an entire planet? Alter Space lets gamers protect their own planets by reducing their Carbon Footprint. "][/caption]

The gamer earns points or “Currentcy” for each appliance turned off. This Currentcy is used to purchase various necessities in the Alter Space virtual world. A gamer can play “Switch Chaser” up to 5 times a day to earn Currentcy. Subsequent game plays (beyond the fifth for the day) are possible but they will no longer earn Currentcy.

Getting your game on

It’s better to know a few basic things about global warming and how it relates to the game’s ultimate goal: Carbon Footprint Reduction.

“Carbon footprint” refers to the amount of carbon gas emissions that a particular human activity releases into the planet. Practically every human activity—driving a car, cooking hamburgers, baking pastries, using household appliances, etc. — leaves its own carbon footprint, whether large or small.

The more carbon emissions are released, the warmer our planet gets. Too much warmth on a global scale affects our weather in ways that could harm our environment and life on Earth. We simply cannot allow our planet to get too hot, if we want to preserve it for the next generations of humans, animals and plants.

[caption id="attachment_1383" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="ALTERNATIVE POWER SOURCE – Playing Alter Space required gamers to find sources of clean energy, or “Cleanergy” as AboitizPower calls it. These include solar energy, hydro-electric power and geothermal power"][/caption]

Reducing the amount of carbon emissions in the planet is one way of managing Global Warming. To do this, we need to choose activities that leave only a small carbon footprint. We can’t totally avoid carbon emissions: it’s a fact of life that living things release carbon gas into the atmosphere—even something as basic a breathing adds to the amount of carbon gas in the planet.

When you play Alter Space, that is what you actually do: make choices and play games that teach you how to reduce your carbon footprint. The right choices are those that increase happiness while minimizing one’s carbon footprint.

Playing the game

In Alter Space, you not only have your own virtual home but an entire planet to take care of. The choices you make during the game will determine whether your planet has more or less total carbon emissions. The objective of the game is to make choices and fulfill tasks that will increase your Happiness Level while ensuring that carbon emissions are kept to a safe amount.

You must fulfill certain tasks (cooking, taking a shower, buying food, going to the park, shopping, watching TV, using the computer, etc.) in order to increase his or her Happiness Level. Every time the Happiness Level reaches 100 per cent, your avatar goes up one game level. The game goes up to Level 5.

[caption id="attachment_1382" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="DEFROST THE FRIDGE REGULARLY – That’s a tip from Alter Space. Playing the game generates Earth-friendly tips that save energy and reduce carbon emissions. "][/caption]

You must continuously earn “Currentcy” during the game. This is done by playing various mini-games. These mini-games involve harvesting energy from alternative sources: a solar power plant, a geothermal plant and a hydro-electric plant—all of which provide energy without carbon emissions.

Alter Space also includes details and touches that showcase Filipino culture, like buying food from a “turo-turo”; playing sungka; or using a pamaypay or fan, and many others.

Some practical tips you learn in Alter Space are: a) Using natural sunlight to brighten your house as much as possible; b) Using energy-saving light bulbs in the house; c) Using a pail of water when you bathe, instead of the shower; d) Using an LCD television set instead of the old CRT TVs; LCD TVs consume less energy and result in less carbon emissions.

Learn these and more practical tips the fun way when you play Alter Space! Check it out at www.facebook.com/alterspacegame.

The secret to fresh breath

Wacky Boys Night Out DJs
get serious about oral care

Since it began airing four years ago, Boys Night Out (BNO) has become one of the most popular shows on local nighttime FM radio. Its DJs—the threesome of Tony Toni, Slick Rick, and Sam YG—have entertained thousands of listeners with their playful and often naughty banter. They’re a testament to the adage that, indeed, boys will be boys.

Despite their wacky comments and funny, naughty boy antics on-air, however, the BNO dudes get serious about their grooming and hygiene habits. Being sloppy about their appearance and getting careless about their oral hygiene, for example, is neither cool nor funny for Boys Night Out.

“Being a radio personality and a media professional puts you in close contact with lots of people. They could be fans. They could be colleagues, friends, or potential clients. It would be very embarrassing and, in a way, even disrespectful, for a media personality to be less than presentable in public.

“As media personalities, we can’t avoid relating to people. It would be a major blunder to be sloppy in our appearance, but it’s even worse if we have poor oral hygiene—that would give a really negative impression when we start talks and conversations with others,” says Slick Rick.

For these beloved jocks, there's no denying the importance of having clean, fresh breath in their line of work.

"For us, our ‘breath’ is our livelihood. It affects how people perceive us," says Tony Toni, who often plays the role of the naughty, racy fellow among the three.

"That's part of the job: you're just going to be talking and talking, and you don’t want your bad breath to slow you down. Plus you never know when you're going to meet a girl you like. It's important because you don't want to leave the impression of having bad breath," says Slick Rick, BNO’s undisputed ‘ladies’ man’.”

"We talk to people everyday. It's our business; it's our job. And in dealing with people, you always want to make sure you leave a good impression," Sam YG, the self-described nerd of the group, explains.

Having strong mouth odor, as far as these 3 are concerned, is a sure recipe for social disaster.

"You could be this hunk, but if you have bad breath that's what people will always remember you for," Slick Rick adds.

"It's a big turn-off for women. No matter how good-looking and handsome you are, if you have strong, unpleasant mouth odor, you can say goodbye to your chances of getting a kiss after a date,” says Tony Toni.

"If you have bad breath, people will say you have low standards of personal hygiene, then it's a domino effect na," he adds.

The same goes for women, according to Sam YG.

"How can you even think of moving on with that person if right from the start you're turned-off by her bad breath? That's minus sexy points," he says.

This makes their oral hygiene regimen of paramount importance to their everyday lives.

Their oral hygiene regimen

"Right after waking up, I have to brush my teeth to ensure I have fresh breath even though I don't have anyone with me at home. After I eat, I brush again, then floss. Then I take a shower and after that, mouthwash before I leave the house," shares Slick Rick. "I'm kind of praning about keeping my teeth and my mouth clean. " he adds.

"I brush my teeth after every meal, then floss about twice a day. I use mouthwash three times a day," shares Sam YG

Which is why, among their stock of hygiene products, the boys rank their mouthwash right near the top. Knowing the importance of using a mouthwash, the BNO DJs literally took pains to find the right brand for them.

"When I was younger, the strong and stingy flavor of the mouthwash I used made me almost want to cry. Even now, there are still some mouthwashes like that. It's like, there has to be some pain for it to be effective. Alright, after that your breath is ok, but then you have to deal with pain to some extent," Sam YG says.

"Other brands, however, don't really eliminate the odor, they just mask it with its strong flavors. Especially when you've eaten something like shawarma that has a lasting effect even after you've brushed your teeth," he adds.

"There are other brands naman that are effective. But it's really the stinging effect na ayaw ko e, it's very strong and it comes to a point na you have to dilute it. Yung iba may bad aftertaste pa. So much so that you can even taste it even when you are already eating. I used to think na kung walang alcohol or wala yung stinging effect, it's not as potent," Tony Toni chimes in.

Then they tried OraCare.

On using OraCare

"At first, I was curious because of the "no sting" claim. I was like, ok, let's see how the product will get the job done without giving me the sting. I wanted to see if it really works that way. It sounded too good to be true," Sam YG recalls. "But since I’ve used it, I”ve never looked back."

"Since I started using OraCare regularly, I haven’t been as conscious about my breath. I'm more confident when talking to people. You're not shy. Like when you’re in a club and the music is loud, you can bring your face closer to other people’s faces to talk without feeling worried," says Tony Toni.

"With OraCare I can use it on a daily basis without wondering whether it would hurt my mouth or something, kasi hindi siya matapang. I said to myself, finally, they came up with something that does not give you the sting yet gives you fresh breath," Sam YG adds.

"It makes you wonder also that if the mouthwash is very harsh, what does that do to my teeth, gums, tongue? If there's much pain, couldn't it have some damaging effect?," Sam YG observes.

And because this trio is Boys Night Out, they won't miss out on the benefits of having nice-smelling breath on the ladies.

"It makes a guy more attractive to women. It says that the guy knows how to take care of himself. And girls like a guy who's well-groomed. Well-groomed, with good hygiene, then with style to match, how can you lose? Those are sure pogi points if a guys know how to take care of his breath," Tony Toni.

"And I notice that more women kiss me when I have fresh breath," he adds.

"When you know that your breath smells good, it gives you confidence, which I think is the most important thing. When you're confident about something, di ba it's easier for you to project yourself well? Because you have nothing to hide and nothing to be shy about, it’s like ‘I'm confident, I can go up and talk to anybody’ and confidence leads to pogi points. If you feel good, people are going to be attracted to you," concludes Sam YG.

Good oral hygiene spells success at work, in romance and any social situation. As Boys Night Out found out, OraCare is clearly the smarter choice for fresh breath and healthy teeth and gums. OraCare Mouthrinse (in Regular and Cool flavors) and OraCare Toothpaste are available in leading supermarkets and drugstores nationwide.

The dangers of Spaghetti with Meatballs

[caption id="attachment_1358" align="alignleft" width="247" caption="Lean Cuisine Recall: Pieces Of Red Plastic"]
Lean Cuisine Recall: Pieces Of Red Plastic[/caption]

Lean Cuisine Recall: Pieces Of Red Plastic
– Lean Cuisine is recalling their Simple Favorites Spaghetti with Meatballs due to possible presence of pieces of red plastic. There are no report where the red plastic has come from they just said that you should not eat them.

Nestlé is the manufacturer of Lean Cuisine products, they are taking this action after few consumers reported they have found red plastic in the meatball portion of the dish. Their are no injuries were reported by any of these consumers.

The voluntary recall is limited to this one hour of production, which was distributed to multiple states. No other production dates, sizes or varieties of LEAN CUISINE products are affected by this recall. The reason for the recall is that the product may contain pieces of red plastic. Nestlé is taking this action after a few consumers reported they had found red plastic in the meatball portion of the entrée. No injuries were reported by any of these consumers. Thus far, the plastic complaints appear to be confined to a very short period of production. However, out of an abundance of caution, Nestlé is recalling the entire hour code of that product marked 0298595519 P.

The entrée being recalled was produced during late October, 2010 and due to its popularity, Nestlé believes very little remains in retail distribution. For this reason, Nestlé is reaching out to consumers to ask that they examine their freezer inventory for specific packages of LEAN CUISINE® Simple Favorites Spaghetti with Meatballs, UPC 13800-10390, which would carry the production code 0298595519 P. To locate the production code, consumers should look for the gray “proof of purchase” panel, located on the right end flap of the package, below the ingredient statement.

Consumers who may have purchased the recalled LEAN CUISINE item should not consume the product, but instead should contact Nestlé Consumer Services at (866) 606-8264 or leancuisine@casupport.com for further instructions. Nestlé will provide a replacement coupon to reporting consumers and also may make arrangements to retrieve the product for further examination.

Nestlé is dedicated to food quality, and the health and safety of its consumers. For these reasons, the company initiated this recall. We apologize to our retail customers and consumers and sincerely regret any inconvenience created by this voluntary product recall.

Ryan Noel and Canyl Trixia's wedding

Philippine Wedding Venues: Fernbrook Gardens

Last week was our  tour in Avida, Thanks to Chris Cahilig.

I saw a beautiful church along the way. See the picture above

It was like Amsterdam, the way I saw it in pictures. I am not really sure but I know how it looks like. Seeing a beautiful church  very well designed like Fernbrook is a wonderful experience. I keep on thinking about it, the pictures stays in my mind. I really wanted to go down that time and take a picture of it, in fact I wake up Enzo just to show the church. I said "Enzo, ang ganda nun oh!"

Since we were inside the van on our way to Avida Cavite. Pity on me, all I can do is stare at that beautiful facade of the church as it fades away. So I started to sleep again. The very night after our tour, I was dreaming about the church I saw. I keep on asking what was the name of that church. Nobody answered until I got this invitation from Iris.

I got invited by Iris Mejia-Acosta to attend the wedding of her big time Kuya Ryan. It was a fulfillment of my dream. Woohoo it will be on that church, yahoo! and I will now have the chance to see it in my face.

More that anything else I am so happy and honored to share some of the photos I took at Philippine Wedding Venues: Fernbrook Gardens.

Here's the map for your reference:

Enjoy the photos after the jump. Woot2x

FILIPINO artists will have the chance to showcase their talent and passion at Avida Towers Centera 3D Street Painting Festival on March 18 and 19, 2011 at Reliance Street in Mandaluyong City.

With the theme “Fast-forward: Life at the Center of the Metropolis”, the art contest is part of the grand launch of Avida Land Corp.’s latest high rise project. The paintings will be open for public viewing starting March 19.

“What better way to mark the rise of another Avida Towers than to showcase the talent and creativity of Filipinos, whose artworks will adorn the street where this development will rise,” says Avida Marketing Manager Tess Tatco.

How to join ?

The 3D street painting competition is open to all Filipino professional artists and students of all ages. Participants must form a team composed of three to seven members to qualify.

Contestants are required to submit a soft copy of their design at chriscahilig2011@gmail.com in JPEG format only on Tuesday, March 15 at exactly 10pm. Submitted design proposals must be based on the theme: “Fast-forward: Life at the Center of the Metropolis”. The final artwork will be 8 x10 feet in size.

Design proposals must include additional information such as group name, the names of the members and contact details. The title of the final artwork should also be stated.

Design proposals will be evaluated and sorted for inclusion in a short-list; short-listed proposals are considered the official finalists of the competition. The contest will begin at 8AM on March 18th until 6 AM of the following day, March 19th.

Winners and prizes

Entries that qualify for the finals will be judged according to Artistic Merit (45%); Relevance to the Theme (35%); and Over-all Impact (20%). The first prize-winner will take home a special glass trophy and P75, 000. The second placer will receive a trophy and P50, 000. The winner for third place will receive a trophy plus P30, 000.

Avida: affordable living at it's best

[gallery columns="4" orderby="rand"]

[slideshow id=4]

There are times when you want to hangout and relax but you can only do it during weekends. So you just want to go to Tagaytay so that you can go home after a few hours of relaxing.

But you like going to Tagaytay and sometimes you don't want to go back to Manila anymore. Why don't you seek for a place to stay somewhere in Cavite? We've been there and the place looks heavenly.

One of the best place to stay in the Philippines is Cavite. It's an outlet of everything. From colorful flowers, relaxation to recreation. Fresh air and good community. Above all it's near in Tagaytay area. Cavite is a place you can call home. A home that you can share with your friends and even their friends. Sharing is a virtue. In Avida Settings life is lived and laughter is shared- over a coffee, a basketball game, or an afternoon at the park. When laughter is shared it binds people, it builds community. This is the vision of Avida in continuing to develop quality lifestyle in Cavite.

I can say that Cavite is a place of friendship. There is no reason not to enjoy the lifestyle here at the Avida properties in Cavite. And it's one of Ayala Land's project which is affordable, from the very rich, to the young and fast rising achievers, to the hardworking middle class who form the backbone of the nation.

Here are the Avida residential projects:

  • Avida Settings Cavite

  • Avida Residences Dasmarinas

  • Avida Residences Santa Catalina

  • Avida Village Santa Cecilia

  • All located along the Molino-Paliparan Road

How about asking a Caviteno like Myrus about the culture of their place?

Watch the video as Myrus talks on what he likes about staying in Cavite . I also learned from him how important it is to value the culture and tradition of your own town. Now I am thinking of relocating to Cavite.

The advantage of living here:

  • Safe from floods

  • Only 15 minutes Away From Alabang

  • Near from malls, schools and churches.

  • Available public transportation

"Cavite has the perfect combination of carefree and cosmopolitan living. If you want a home in a peaceful yet progressive community, you can always find one in our Cavite residential projects" says Tess Tatco, Marketing Head for Avida.

Live Positively

Try to focus on positive things, and do not dwell on the negative. Try to Recall your accomplishments and good deeds. Doing this will help keep you positive, and keep your spirit up. If you constantly remind yourself of your mistakes, you will find it harder to succeed down the road, and your mind, body, and soul will work against you.

•Don't worry Be Happy

You’ve heard of finding your “happy place” right? This form of meditation helps you take your mind and spirit to a comfortable place that fills you with happiness. This is an ideal thing to do when you are in the middle of a stressful day at work or with the kids; it provides the perfect opportunity to regroup.

•Be an agent of change.

Nothing beats life change. Plan a vacation, even if it is just for a weekend. Nothing does the body, mind, and soul better than a little change of scenery. Go where you will be happy, and be able to let loose and have some fun. Try it on your own. It might sound scary, but you will be surprised at how relaxed and refreshed you will be after a weekend all to yourself!

•Try some daily affirmations.

Pick three things that you can say out loud in the mirror that will help you stay centered, positive, and focused. Saying something often enough has the power to make it true for you.

Three basic affirmations that you can work from include

“I am going to successful and secure.”

“God gives me everything that I need.”

“My income will going to increase.”

Ways to eliminate sunburn

Low Cost Ways to Soothe the Sting of Sunburn

You want to go to beach but you don't want to get burned. Most of us likely has at least memory of nasty sunburn. Whether experienced personally, or by your closest family member or friend, and the symptoms are likely to include anything from red, white hot skin – either tender or painful to touch, dehydration, blistering and flaking or peeling of the skin.

And anyone who has experienced bad sunburn will surely get, and the amount of time and your effort spent causing the sunburn, is largely disproportionate to the length of time that can be spent suffering the consequences of it's effects. In this respect, it depends on the severity of burning, -- pain and discomfort can persist for several days after the event, as the body works to heal and recover from the unprotected UV exposure.

Unless the symptoms becomes severe.

5 simple home remedies without spending money

1. Water: - Soak youin a cool bath is one of the best ways to draw heat from the skin and soothe the pain and discomfort of sunburn. Avoid cold water.

Here are some additional things to add to your baths for further relief:

a. Add 10 drops of so of essential oil (chamomile or lavender) to the bath. Soak for 15 minutes or until relief is felt.

b. Adding baking soda (or oatmeal) to a lukewarm bath can also relieve sunburn pain. This treatment to work best, try to make sure that all affected areas are submerged. Bath water can be poured over your body using your hands or a soft washcloth. Burned facial areas can be gently dabbed using the cloth, or alternately you can splash water directly onto your face. After soaking, lightly pat the skin dry with a soft towel (preferably cotton). If you’ve take an oatmeal bath, let the light coating of oatmeal that clings to your skin remain.

c. Adding vinegar to the bath water will help in taking the sting out of sunburn.

2. Sugarcane Extract: - Because it evaporates so quickly, dabbing on rubbing alcohol will quickly cool and ease the pain of sunburned skin.

3. Vinegar: - an effective and cooling treatment for sunburn. Soak some towels with it, and apply it to the burned areas. Alternately you can fill a spray bottle and spray it directly on the skin as needed.

4. Yoke : - If you burn in painfully hot, separating the white from the yolk of an egg, and then spreading the white over the affected area will help to cool the burning instantly. This can be repeated as often as needed.

5. Potatoes: - Potatoes can also be used to relieve the pain of sunburn. Take 2 potatoes and wash them well. Cut them into tiny chunks and place in a blender to liquefy. (If the result appears too dry, add some water). Pat the affected areas with potato juice. Wait until dry, and then rinse off in a cool shower or bath.

Remember that as well as causing varying degrees of discomfort and pain, repeated sun exposure and sunburn also accelerates the aging process and can increase the risk of cataracts and skin cancer. Prevention therefore should also always be considered more preferable than treatment!

These are home remedy tips only, and should not replace your regular health care provider.

If sunburn persists, please seek the appropriate health care assistance.

Importance of Water Conservation

One of the great values I learned in our CWTS class is the Importance of Water Conservation
And then I was able to watch "Rango" movie, I was more enlightened about water conservation. Now I would like to share Green living tips from the Nestlé Club

There are a lot of ways to save water, and they all start with us!

  • Conserve water in the kitchen

  • If you wash dishes by hand, fill one half of the sink with soapy water and the other with clean water instead of letting the water run.

  • Wash your fruits and vegetables in a pan of water instead of running water from the tap.

  • Water your houseplants with water saved from washing your fruits and vegetables or even when you clean your fish tank!

  • Thaw foods in the refrigerator or in a bowl of hot water instead of using running water.

  • Designate one glass for your drinking water each day or refill a water bottle. This will cut down on the number of glasses to wash.

  • Let your pots and pans soak instead of letting the water run while you clean them.

  • Conserve water in the bathroom

  • Drop your tissue in the trash instead of flushing it.

  • One way to cut down on water use is to turn off the shower after soaping up, then, turn it back on to rinse. A four-minute shower uses approximately 20 to 40 gallons of water.

  • Turn the faucet off while you shave, brush your teeth and lather up your hands.

  • Conserve water indoors

  • Wash only full loads in your washing machine, or adjust the water level to reflect the size of the load.

  • Pay attention to your water bill and become familiar with your water meter—use them to track your water use and detect leaks.

  • Fix leaky plumbing fixtures, faucets and appliances in the house.

  • Show children how to turn off the faucets completely after each use.

  • Washing dark clothes in cold water saves water and energy while helping your clothes to keep their colors.

  • Conserve water outdoors

  • For hanging baskets, planters and pots, place ice cubes under the moss or dirt to give your plants a cool drink of water and help eliminate water overflow.

  • Wash your pets outdoors in an area of your lawn that needs water.

  • Report broken pipes, open hydrants and errant sprinklers to the property owner or your water provider.

  • Water your lawn only when needed.

  • Don’t over-water your plants. Learn how much water they need and how best to apply just the right amount

Recommended Spiritual Activities

Do you pray to God?

Luckily for me there’s always been that curiosity of what’s out there in the alternative world including the alternative therapies. I’ve tried many of them over the years and will continue to do so, all in the hope I can make things better for my body, mind and spirit.

I am aware now that what my work for me may not work for someone else, so the message is to keep trying until you find something that will really suit your needs.

There were many times I’ve been told they’ve tried everything. What is everything? What it is actually boiled down to you could count on one hand. It’s worthwhile to keep searching, you may find that your world expands in a most amazing is the way by the making of new friendship and camaraderie and picking up useful skills for your ‘self-healing’ tool-kit.

So what do I do when I’ve reached nirvana and need some direction or could do with some healing?

Listed below 5 basic points that have helped to lift my spirit and with practice will also help yours, I also went to Angeles to learn this things.

1. Meditation! Mantra Meditation is one of the greatest self healing tools available and costs nothing except a little of your own time! There are many meditation techniques out there, you can find one that suits you and begin.

By putting this and some meditation music on and spending time in quiet contemplation it can soothe your soul and reconnect you with the highest aspect of yourself upto the impersonal brhaman.

do you also like smaelling incense?

2.Aromatherapy and Essential Oils.

Rebalance and rejuvenate your spirit through blending a selection of essential oils together in an aromatherapy oil burner. I’ve found the following blend works extremely well when there’s a need for nurturing, support and healing:

Approximately an hour before retiring to bed place a few drops of the following in an aromatherapy oil burner with some water (for safety’s sake, extinguish the flame before lights that are turned off for the night):

here are the ingredients;

4 drops Jasmine

4 drops Rose

4 drops Neroli

3 drops Lavender

3 drops Bergamot

The smell divine! I use this one every now and again and not only sleep like a baby but anxiety and stress disappears, and feels like the weight of the world has lifted from my shoulders by the following morning! (If you have a small bedroom you might like to half the amount of drops)

3.Fresh Breathe! Stand with feet a shoulder-length apart. Take 3 real slow and deep breaths using your diaphragm muscles. Breathe in and out through the nose, and breathe out through slightly parted lips. And as you do these imagine you’re inhaling your personal power, filling every cell in your body, from your diaphragm up to the top of your head.

Be your personal power and notice how much taller, straighter and stronger you become. Repeat the steps above.

4. Be in the Present Moment. Take a few deep breaths and focus totally on this moment, right now.

If you’re reading a book or magazine, or even this article, totally focus on the words and take in their meaning. There is only you and this article now in the present moment.

If you’re in the workplace, focus totally on the task at hand, and only this task, and what you must do in order to complete it. Nothing else matters except you and the task at hand.

5. Set an intention. When I’m on the lookout for something new and useful for me, I set my intention on what it is I’m after.

For example, I may want to find a book that will give me answers in regards to directing me to another healing modality or skill.

I then meditate on this intention, give it a timeframe then open my heart to it. Lo and behold I will have a book in my hand in no time at all! I love the power of intention – I also use intention for getting a parking space when I go shopping!

These days I rarely get sick and when I do and have a medical checkup, doctors tell me I’m actually very healthy (surely they can find something so I can get some sympathy around here!) which also includes blood test results.

I still do sadness and unhappiness well (I’m still human) though neither lasts long whereas in the past it would last many days sometimes weeks. What lasts much longer is a peaceful state.

When using the 5 points above, my spirit lifts and life once again becomes more peaceful and joyful.
