After the success of Energizer Night Race inCebu last July 10, 2010 & in Davao last April 16, 2011, Energizer and GMA-7 are bringing its 3rd Night race in Dagupan on May 21, 2011. This is part of the nationwide tour of the Energizer Night Race in the country. The event highlights the endurance of Filipino runners and health enthusiasts who, like the Energizer icon, just keeps on going and going.

“The overwhelming response of last year’s Energizer Night Race has pushed us to hold it in more key cities nationwide. What was unique about our night race was the impact of the multiple Energizer head lights that beam the streets.” Energizer Brand Manager Joan Mendoza says.

Each runner will be given an Energizer headlight with three AAA Energizer batteries, singlet, cap and a Schick razor for a registration fee of only P450. The night race is composed of 3km, 5km, and 10km categories. Three winners from each category will receive cash prizes, medals, and gift packs.

“With the use of Energizer headlight and the unstoppable power of our Energizer batteries, Filipinos can now enjoy running safely at night without ever worrying on running out of power. The Energizer headlight features two bright NICHIA white LED bulbs and one red LED bulb for night vision in a lens that swivels 170-degrees to prevent neck strain. It has an ergonomic head unit with elastic strap for maximum comfort,” Mendoza explains.

Not only will the event promote fitness and health but it will also support the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week in July by donating proceeds of the race to the hearing-impaired children in Dagupan through GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc. Hearing aids and Energizer Zero-Mercury hearing aid batteries will be awarded to chosen beneficiaries during the Kapuso Night celebration, right after the race.

“Energizer Philippines Inc. recognizes and promotes hearing as vital for the normal learning process and full integration of these children into a productive society. We hope to empower these hearing-impaired children with the tools required for such growth and have a real chance to enjoy life to the fullest,” Mendoza says.

Since 2007, the Energizer Night Race has been held in other countries such as Argentina, Korea, South Africa, Malaysia, and Singapore.
