vegetarianism is a symptom of kuripotism

I used to dream of being a vegetarian chef, why not poknat ? besides I can really cook my own food.
And because of this long time dream I decided to buy a small stove, which I can use for cooking demo, so watch out for my cooking show hehe !
And using my cooking skills I'm gonna show here some videos that will make vegetarian cooking so easy, of course with a touch of kuripotism, so most of my recipes does not require expensive ingredients. Thanks to Jayson Biadog for always reminding me that being kuripot is cool.
Vegetarianism is one symptoms of kuripotism. Perfect for a person like me who can't afford expensive things.

Athena, the Philippines’ first milk brand for women

Unilab Nutritionals introduces Athena, the Philippines’ first milk brand for women

Athena helps women fight their every day battles with a triad of health and beauty benefits – a first of its kind in the milk category

Unilab Nutritionals launched Athena, the country’s first and only milk brand that understands women. The event, held last November 26, 2010 in the Grand Ballroom of the New World Renaissance Hotel, introduced Athena’s triad of benefits, a first in the Philippines, and its endorser, Bianca Araneta-Elizalde.

“Beautrition” for the modern-day Filipina
Today’s Filipino woman is a multi-tasker who faces professional and personal challenges every day.

Athena is the only milk that understands modern-day Filipino women and helps them win their daily battles. Athena promises more benefits than any other skimmed milk brand in the Philippines by offering Beautrition – a combination of beauty and nutrition that gives women a triad of benefits to help them win their everyday battles:

• Beautiful Skin. Athena provides anti-oxidants (Vitamin A, E & Zinc) to help women’s skin become healthier and more beautiful.
• Strong Bones. Athena is high in calcium to help strengthen women’s bones.
• Slim Figure. Athena is low in fat to help women maintain a slimmer figure.

Bianca Araneta-Elizalde is the Athena Woman
Bianca Araneta-Elizalde was introduced as Athena’s endorser for the way she has been able to successfully manage the different aspects of her life. Amid her various roles as model, TV host, entrepreneur, environmentalist and philanthropist, she still has time to be hands-on mother to two children and a caring wife to Juan Elizalde.

Bianca’s believes that Athena is the milk that perfectly complements her lifestyle. “The Beautrition benefit from Athena is unlike any other. I love it! Athena helps me get through my everyday challenges,” she said.

Three Women, Three Benefits
Event-host Bianca Valero also introduced three brand influencers that represent, through the active lives they lead, Athena’s triad of benefits: Lia Cruz who embodied strength through her career as a TV host, Sandra Seifert who embodied body as an active health buff, and Rissa Mananquil who embodied beauty through her successful international modeling career and fashion icon status.

Each shared about how they were able to successfully manage their busy schedules while still finding time to do the things they love to do.

“Women were looking for a milk product that provides not only health benefits but beauty benefits as well,” said Unilab Nutritionals Division Head, Brenda Miranda. “Athena with Beautrition answers that need and we’re proud to have launched the first and only milk in the Philippines that truly understands women.”

Athena is available in leading supermarkets, groceries and drugstores nationwide.

Lia Cruz

is a pretty host and a beautiful sportscaster in the Philippines. Aside from being an ambassador of beauty, her life is a good example of an active healthy living. A strong person inside and out.

Strength : She can speak a lot about sports because she herself is a sports enthusiast.

Aside from doing sports for personal health benefits, she promotes physical fitness by influencing others. I am one of those people who really looks forward on her kind of lifestyle, because I believe that encouraging other people to engage in physical fitness is making a positive difference to their lives.

By doing regular exercise or getting into sports one can achieve an active, healthy lifestyle. And as Lia Cruz said
Strength , Body and Beauty manifests when you do physical activities. Because you look good when you feel good, and that brings a positive change in life.

So let us all be active and healthy! Live Positively! + )

An Easy Way of Going Vegetarian

Most of the vegetarian people that I ask says it's hard to go vegetarian, and so my non vegetarian friends would say " I really really wanted to go vegetarian but it's hard ! isn't it ? " . Miki de Guzman asked this a while ago during the launch of Yahoo Mail Beta. She was not the first person who asked me this but with all pleasure I answered her this way.

The reason why you think going vegetarian is hard is because we are conditioned to eating meat. So if you really want to become vegetarian, you have to aim to remove that condition (eating meat) and make yourself conditioned to eating vegetables. But you can't do this overnight. It takes time because as I said we are conditioned to eating meat. Make a timeline to gradually reduce your intake of meat and this will help you achieve your goal to make yourself conditioned to eating vegetables.

Alright here's a pattern that I hope can also help those who are having hard time giving up meat.

Boxing is not meant for killing each other

I did Watch Pacquiao vs. Margarito fight

I just finished watching the Pacquiao vs. Margarito fight.
I was wondering about the health status of Manny Pacquiao because as far as I know he was not a 100% healthy trained aside from the fact that he loosed weight. But still he retained his speed and stamina.
There are things that I learned in this fight Pacquiao vs. Margarito:
Boxing is not meant for killing each other
" Manny Pacquaio does not need him ( Mayweather ).

A safe way of biking

Tiklop Society of the Philippines

Like my friend Jayson Biadog I am also a kuripot blogger. That's why I'm thinking of ways to cover events without spending pamasahe. A few days ago I met a group called Tiklop Society of the Philippines, it is the first folding bike club of the Philippines; aims to promote safe riding, practical ownership, and pure fun in folding bikes.

If I am going to have a bike like tiklop society I can now cover event without spending pamasahe. I just need to give a time allowance for travel but this idea is brilliant. Oh! I would love to bike because it promotes physical fitness.

Health Benefits of Running

The Benefits of Running

The first part of this video tells about the health benefits of running.

http://youtu.be/c4w9vJJKGGI

First, I would like to thank Joylyn Sayson for introducing me to the running bloggers during the Malungai Life Oil event a few days ago, wherein I was a shameful super late. But anyway I was able to meet the running bloggers. Well it's better to be late than never.

Second, I would like to thank the running bloggers Alfredo Vedarozaga and the gang for inviting me to join them run in UP diliman , I was able to meet new friends from the Six 30 running group. Before I used to run alone , but now I can feel the difference when you have someone to run to, I realized that it is important that you join a running group . I am happy because they accepted me and treated as their co runners, so from being a loner I am now a happy runner ! Yehey !

Third , this is where my story starts :

I just came from UP Diliman, I joined the Six 30 running group in their running session. I can say that this is not just an ordinary kind of running, it involves the basics of running, safety, good camaraderie and above all it develops positive energy.

Running is not the kind of sport that I used to do seriously, but these guys are good in it. More than being serious in training they are aware of the safety precautions about running. I learned so much by joining this group, from basics to the proper way of running and from safety to avoiding injury. If you can think, there is actually a lesser tendency that you get injury but if you do not know the basics and the proper way of running you will end up getting injury.

So if you are looking for an injury free running, I recommend these guys from Six 30 running group. You can join them every saturdays, 6:30 am at UP Diliman Oblation. Like them on facebook.

Running is a great way to start a good weekend. Make it a habit to sleep early every Friday night so that you can join them and run. Let us promote physical fitness. Be Active and Healthy , Live Positively !

Fourth, I wish I can experience the newest On-Running shoes so that I can also run on clouds. Isn't that Amazing! I think I am going to be proud owner of a new 8.5 shoe (my size) if Destiny permits! (crossing fingers). A new running shoes arriving in the Philippines soon. So let us all watch out!

Vegetarian restaurants in the Philippines : Pipino Vegetarian

Vegetarian in the Philippines : Pipino Vegetarian

I just got home from Pipino vegetarian , the home of great native vegetarian food. If you're a vegetarian and you want pure-no mock meat vegetarian food then this is the place for you. It is located at 2/F 39 Malingap Street, Teachers Village, Quezon City, and another reason why I'd love to stay in QC. More than being vegetarian their food is 100% vegan. This is another addition to vegetarian restaurants in the Philippines.

A few days ago I posted about my desire to eat at pipino vegetarian, and I was more than glad enough to experience their vegan ice cream and lasagna today. I am also accommodated by the beautiful owner of this restaurant Alessa Libongco. I admit that every time I will eat at any vegetarian restaurant my goal is to interview the owner. I am now editing the video of my interview with her and will post it here once uploaded in youtube. Maybe tomorrow.......

Nov. 11......now it's done !

The importance of Active , Healthy Lifestyle

Interview with Dr. Marthony P. Basco, MD, MPH

It's hard travelling nowadays , specially when you're an active blogger whose very active in covering events. You experience hardship when it rains , when you got stuck into traffic and when you can't ride MRT right ahead.

But everything becomes alright when you aim for something worthy , positive activity and information about good health. It becomes more alright when you meet great personalities whom you can learn so much about taking care of our body and how we can encourage others to also take care of their health. Specially when you get to know someone like Doc Ato, he was so entertaining. When I first met him, I saw a doctor who's also a comedian by nature. He was the guest speaker and he brought us two things: knowledge and laughter. Now I believe that laughter is really the best medicine.

According to Dr. Marthony P. Basco, MD, MPH (Child and Public Health Specialist) being active and healthy does not end on physical activities alone, it extends to your way of thinking and speaking, specially positive thinking. And there are two requirements to have an active healthy lifestyle :

1. Doing what you love to do

2. Doing your best

How can a person achieve active healthy lifestyle ?

  • eat balanced diet

  • good sleeping habit

  • being active

How to live positively ?

  • engage yourself to social activities

  • translate positive influence to other people

MALUNGAI LIFE OIL

For top health, listen to an expert: Mother Nature

Modern life is full of contradictions. Interest in natural wellness is at an all-time high –
and so are stress levels. A 24/7 lifestyle and perpetual multi-tasking leads us to demand maximum return from every peso and every calorie.
Yet for most urbanites, 100% health perfection is simply not realistic. Our daily trip to work exposes us to toxins and pollution; sleeplessness, convenience food and inadequate exercise are facts of modern office life.

Funny then, to fight these new ills with wisdom from an old source: Mother Nature. In the days when “organic” was the rule rather than the exception, balanced health could be found as close as the family garden. Humble, homegrown malunggay kept generations of Pinoys hardy and strong, without ever setting foot in a gym.

From that inspiration comes MALUNGAI LIFE OIL: an all-natural supplement that unlocks the disease-fighting powers of moringa olifera in extracted, highly concentrated oil. A product of proudly Filipino company Manila Nature’s Link, Malungai Life Oil is the only oil based malunggay supplement in the market today.

Rich in Vitamin C, calcium, antioxidants and essential amino acids, malunggay has long been associated with benefits that are more relevant than ever. These include higher energy, increased immunity, and helping to manage three of today’s main health concerns: blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol.

In fact, while it is still being studied, malunggay oil also shows promise not only in preventing cancer but in easing the painful effects once it is already developed.*

The key to it all is chlorophyll, engine of the plant’s powerful conversion of energy. By distilling both seeds and leaves into a pure, cold-pressed oil, MLO maximizes malunggay’s chlorophyll and renders it, in the words of a medical expert, “preserved,
conserved and available.”

This means that malunggay’s health benefits can be delivered with more stability and consistency than in the dried powder that was previously available. So you get a synergistic combination of nutrients which normally can be obtained only from separate food sources.

MALUNGAI LIFE OIL. Pure, potent power from Mother Nature – in convenient, concentrated form, perfect for getting the most out of life.

MALUNGAI LIFE OIL is available in packs of 10s and 60s, at Mercury Drug and other drugstores nationwide. For more product information, please visit www.malungailifeoil.ph.

* Phytonutrients [are] present in the leaves of the moringa tree. These leaves are exceptionally rich in
chlorophyll and many potent antioxidant flavonoids… A pressing question is, therefore, whether ingesting
… “Moringa Life Oil” derived from these leaves can significantly reduce the likelihood of cancer development
and even suppress cancers once they have fully developed. … [This] should be studied in nonoperable
cancer patients. At a minimum, it might help alleviate some of the side effects of chemotherapy.
More importantly, it may help fuel and activate the body’s natural cancer preventative and suppression
processes.“ -- “Moringa Life Oil” in the Prevention and Therapy of Cancer. W. John Martin, MD, PhD.,

The Green Nation

The Importance of Recycling
I am a fan of Miss Earth , aside from being a great fan of Karla Henry.
Miss Earth Foundation has always been doing great job caring for the environment. And one of the duties of Miss Earth beauties is to promote goodwill and beauty of Mother Earth. More than being beautiful Karla Henry and Jean Harn were most responsible for letting us know about the importance of recycling. During the Canon Photomarathon I was able to ambush interview them . Jason Tomas feels like… like a virgin!!!

Interview with Jason Tomas

Jason Tomas has a hyper ability to host and release charm at the same time.

More than being charming he loves to live positively all the time.

The love to live my life makes me positive all the time. The fact that we have only one life to live makes me want to live it to the fullest the best way I know how to… Setting my goals and doing my best to achieve them. Loving each “present” moment with my family, friends and people around me. And the best of all being happy all the time.

He promotes Physical Fitness by means of dancing, above all he emphasizes the healthier side of being vegetarian.
a. I dance. Been a dancer since I was 7 years old. Had formal training in jazz and ballet and I dance whenever I have the time.

b. I run. For me running is one of the most non expensive workouts and most effective. If I am not joining any marathons, I run the treadmill or just simply run around the Pearl Drive or Salcedo park area.

c. I lift weights. Lifting weights contributes to faster metabolism, which in my case in slower. Also contributes to good overall health and a good physical appearance (syempre)

d. And most of all I do my best to eat healthy all the time. I think I am more of a pesco-vegetarian. I love eating vegetables; my meal is never complete without big amount of greens in it. Had always been called “kambing” by my peers. I prefer a lot of fish dishes, sometimes I just eat plain tuna between meals.

e. Eating 6 or more times in a day, in small quantities.

Talkativeness is an advantage for Jason Tomas
Do you encourage people to be fit?

a. Since I really love to talk… I share to others the benefits of being fit the best way I know how and usually.. surprisingly they get so into the fitness after the chat. Doing this is like sharing them “Life”. Fitness is not just physical, it’s an overall thing.

One of the benefits of running is gaining virginity

a. I really recommend running (is it considered a sport by itself?), ang sarap tumakbo. Aside from being one of the most inexpensive and effective workouts. You get to push & challenge yourself to run farther, faster and better and pag nagawa mo yun… Ang sarap ng feeling.. feels like… feels like… like a virgin!!! I mean refreshing and brand new.

Many Benefits of Healthy Lifestyle

After many years of staying at home and starting to adopt the new normal, finally nakapag fun run and recreation ulit. And it's good to ...
