Walking For Good Health

If you are looking for the best and cheapest exercise you can probably do without harming your pocket then walking is most recommended for you. I myself do a lot of walking because I would always experience lack of money so I usually just walk from home to office and vice versa.

Not only you can save money but it is also good for the health.

If you like walking a lot then why don't you this challenge:

Monitor your steps in the 1-minute pedometer challenge

Walking and counting your steps can help you slip easily into that exercise habit which you've been postponing forever.

Wheatgrass CAN International Inc. (WCI) partnered with Gold’s Gym in a one-minute pedometer challenge that will help fitness enthusiasts, particularly beginners, in meeting their weight loss goals. WCI is the leading distributor of wheatgrass-based food supplements in the country.

Seven Gold’s Gym branches are participating in the challenge  that will wind up in October 3 and held every Thursday, 12 pm to 8 pm in  Galleria, Greenhills, Acropolis, Timog, Katipunan, North EDSA and Alabang .

The one-minute challenge, said WCI sales associate Jeryl Bandelaria, can be integrated in the workouts and those joining will not go unrewarded. Depending on how many steps they log in 60 seconds, prizes at stake are button pins for 100 – 200 steps, tumblers for 200-300 steps and T-shirts for 300-400 steps. In order to join, gym goers are required to buy two cans of Easy Pha-max wheatgrass ready to drinks and will be issued Wheatgrass

Can-certified pedometers that can be clipped to their waistbands.

Beyond the prizes, according to Jeryl, the ultimate rewards are weight loss and good healthy attitudes that begin from taking as little as 100 steps a minute.

Climbing my way to good health

If Judy Ann Santos have been sporting Yoga these past few days I have been searching a new sport to do for a change. It's been a long ling since I haven't done indoor wall climbing.

I have been trying to do wall climbing on a regular basis since I first tried it when I was in college.
I have tried it many times but wall climbing remains desperation for me.
Now that there is a near wall climbing gym in our area I might give it a try and hopefully squeeze in my schedule.
It's interesting!
Wall climbing is an uber popular indoor sport that is attracting fitness buffs and thrill seekers. Its ability to boost metabolism, strengthen the core, tone muscles and provide a certified high makes it an irresistible attraction.
The sport isn’t all that new – the first wall was created in the UK in 1964 – but wall climbing is a modern hit – in parks, schools, fairs and amusement parks.

Exactly what benefits does wall climbing deliver?
1. Wall climbing burns a lot of calories. Even moderate wall climbing can make you lose 400 to 600 calories in just an hour. This is because the sport maximizes the use of muscles in your legs, arms, chest, back and core. Think of how many more calories you can burn when you go extreme!
2. It promotes cardiovascular health. The wall climbing work out gets your heart pumping -- not only because you get an adrenaline rush when you go up the rocks. The amount of strength you use to pull your body weight up lets your heart and organs deliver blood vigorously and deepen your breathing. The cardio vascular benefits from climbing improves metabolism, reduces the risk of heart disease and osteoporosis. It also gives you more energy and lets you sleep better.
3. It tones muscles and improves flexibility. As you climb and defy gravity, the leg muscles – particularly the hamstring and quadriceps -- harden to support body weight and maintain their flexibility to reach the next foothold. Climbing requires ab/core involvement which tones the tummy, one of the most stubborn areas where fat builds up.
4. It exercises your mind. Climbing involves problem solving, focus and strategy as you plan your route upwards. It requires a high level of mind and body coordination to respond to the task at hand. The basic challenge of wall climbing is to concentrate on finishing while conquering numerous difficulties. Wall climbing can make you sharp.
5. It gives you a sense of accomplishment. Whether you’re overcoming your fear of heights, working your muscles or navigating your way along the footholds, reaching the top of the wall always provides a sense of fulfillment. That exhilarating thrill of pushing yourself beyond your limits and winning over your limitations provides a sense of triumph that makes you feel victorious.
There is an opportunity to try indoor wall climbing at the R.O.X.in Bonifacio High Street, Taguig on September 13-15, September 20-22 and September 27-29.
When you climb, just make sure you wear the proper gear and protection that will keep you safe from injury.
3M Futuro® , one of the participating brands in the weekend activities, has products specially suited for the prevention and care of sports injuries such as Futuro® Sport Moisture Control Knee support, Futuro® Sport Adjustable Wrist Support, and Futuro® Sport Adjustable Ankle Support. These products are designed for improved durability, flexibility, and support for athletic activities such as wall climbing. For more information about Futuro® products, visit www.futuro.com/ph.

My First Weekend of September #HappyBirthdayMamaMary

I am a hardworking person on Modays - Fridays and I deserve a lot of happiness during my weekends #selfproclaim.

My weekend starts at Friday night....it's the last day of work...it's the time to prepare for my weekend getaways!

My Goals:  First Weekend of September

September 6-8, 2013

Friday Night: Get A Good Quality Sleep....a long one. No one can wake me up on a Saturday morning.

Saturday Morning
If there is no running activity I will sleep until afternoon. If there is an early run I will sleep early on Friday night.

If there is a run and it's just in BGC I will join, but if it's far I won't.

If it's just BGC it won't be stressful to go there from our house. If it's beyond the area I'd rather just do my own run.

My time is limited, I need to run without getting stressed. I haven't run for a month now. I should run next week by all means.

Saturday Afternoon:
I have to Thank you Lord. You gave me the chance to treat my Mom for a lunch. Thank you because Sbarro at KPMG is closed so we ate at Chowking, which is cheaper. :-)

At 1 pm I have to prepare for my Yoga Pilates class at Options Studio in RCBC. Special Thanks to my co- blogger JR Bustamante for recommending me to her sister who's a Yoga Instructor from Singapore, now here in the Philippines.

It was nice to meet you Joella, you were such an amazing instructor. Thank you for guiding me in our Session #1 of Pilates. I am feeling the body aches right now specially the core and the hamstrings. I am loving this feeling. Wonderful!

Thank you Lord for the rain. I have no choice but to stay at Options and watch my co-blogger Vince do his Pilates.

Saturday Night:
I need some entertainment

Now it's time to see my favorite stars in the opening night of Sineng Pambansa. Thank you Campaigns Grey and SM for inviting me to see Philippine Master Directors together with their best actors and actresses.

Sunday Morning:
